All sprinkler (gicleur) room doors in every building must be locked with a key. Doors cannot have a passage lever or be propped open.
Unauthorized access can cause damage to the system. Sometimes, homeless people or vandals enter and tamper with sprinklers, creating serious safety hazards.
According to the Fire Department, all sprinkler room doors must remain locked at all times.
